THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it

Senior Sports Traders at FanDuel possess the skill set and experience to lead or be a significant contributor to at least one of NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAAB or NCAAF. They understand the online sports betting industry, have competitor knowledge and strong bookmaking skills that can be passed onto colleagues. They have a customer focused mindset, experience working with key stakeholders within an online sportsbook such as quants or product teams, and have reporting and analysis skills to diagnose areas of improvement.

This role is predominantly office based with the ability to work from home on occasion. At the start of your role, we require all days to be in the office to help with training. Our office is located in Jersey City, next to the Newport PATH station and just across from Manhattan. This role will be focused on contributing to our overall 2025 Trading Strategy with key emphasis on price accuracy, customer friction and the live betting space.


THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Strong bookmaking skills with the ability to go first to market, own end to end price management through the full lifecycle of event and hold strong opinions.
  • Have a calm, problem solving mindset to react as breaking news and adjust necessary prices
  • Experience live trading events, adjusting prices based on key factors such as game state, customer behavior and placing yourself in the optimal place within the competitive market
  • Understanding of liability management
  • Compliance first mindset is necessary with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape
  • New market ideation with a fail fast mentality
  • Analyze large data sets to identify focus areas to improve business performance
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior members of the team instilling the best bookmaking principles
  • Contribute to Product focused conversations with a customer first mindset


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Industry experience of 2+ years
  • Strong understanding of betting, statistics and probability, possessing the ability to contribute to detailed price testing across bet types
  • Strong written, verbal communication and research skills
  • Strong understanding of the betting landscape and competitive environment
  • High attention to detail and genuine team player
  • Ability to play a coaching role within the trading team, including training of other staff
  • Managerial experience is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Exceptional knowledge of at least one of the aforementioned sports
  • Ability to do basic and mental math problems under time pressure.
  • Able to attend the Jersey City office multiple times a week.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Experience with Excel essential; knowledge of SQL, R or Python is helpful not a necessity
  • Free schedule to work outside of normal business hours including weekends and holidays
  • The ability to achieve a DGE license

The applicable salary range for this position is $92,000-$126,500, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
