THE POSITION

FanDuel is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team. This role will be the go-to resource for managers and employees, providing expert guidance on the day-to-day Payroll issues, timesheets, and year end activity. In this fast-paced environment, the Senior Payroll Specialist will possess a combination of technical, problem solving and communication skills and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.  The candidate will work on Payroll processing, equity processing, audit reporting, addressing employee inquiries, and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional partners.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Own the administration of FanDuel’s multi-state payroll process and systems, processing our regular and special pay runs in a timely and zero-defect manner and ensuring that our payroll system has accurate employee address, salary, tax, and benefit information for US & Canada
  • Become the go-to internal authority on the ins and outs of our payroll system
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll issues, coordinating with all relevant collaborators and owning communication around issues and resolutions
  • Be the liaison on all payroll matters for FanDuel employees and FanDuel’s payroll vendor
  • Partner regularly with our Finance and Accounting teams to maintain accurate records and reporting, and perform regular auditing according to internal controls
  • Guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and standard practices
  • Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills and ability to deliver quickly with accuracy
  • Work with employees, managers and HR to review timesheet errors and make timesheet adjustments in a timely manner
  • Outstanding attention to detail and process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Humility and self-awareness, demonstrating a deep understanding of the confidentiality and integrity that comes with running compensation and other demographic data of employees
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across People Ops, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and more
  • Prior experience to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on, full cycle, multi-state payroll and payroll tax experience for organizations more than 1000 employees, including hourly workforce.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite programs.
  • Strong skill, comfort and agility working in Excel to create, maintain, audit and track data (V-lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Experience with global payroll platforms such as Dayforce, Workday or ADP.
  • Strong knowledge of Wage and Hour laws, Federal and State payroll regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with complex problems and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills.
  • Ability to leverage data in order to review, recommend and develop new or modified processes/procedures as required.
  • Experience with payroll processing of equity related transactions (RSU’s and ESPPs).
  • Ability to successfully balance competing priorities and effectively manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain organized, work autonomously, execute flawlessly, pay strict attention to detail and meet critical deadlines.

The applicable salary range for this position is $86,000 - $108,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
