The Position

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our high-performance core platforms and experiences team. This is a key role in a fast-paced environment working with multiple delivery teams and a wide range of stakeholders across the business. This role will specifically focus on the refer a friend and FanDuel homepage, where you will focus on building out merchandising and experimental functionality, working closely with engineering, marketing and analytics.

You will:

  • Be responsible for eliciting requirements, in the form of user stories & acceptance criteria, prioritizing the product backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components
  • Establish and maintain domain expertise including complex process flows and legal and regulatory requirements for our industry.
  • Work within a collaborative environment, liaising closely with an extensive list of stakeholders including engineering, marketing & product analytics.
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table when working to solve business problems, using your understanding of the KYC / AML domain to generate innovative solutions for both our customers and business stakeholders.
  • Be an enabling force for driving through effective and sustainable change and guiding the business through the journey.
  • Play an integral role in a self-organizing agile delivery team, ensuring solutions adhere to state regulations for our products while serving the needs of each of our products (Sportsbook, Fantasy Sports, Racing, and Casino).
  • Understand and communicate the problem whilst putting the customers experience of the product first.
  • Play a key role within the PO community here at FanDuel, sharing your best practices and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-skilling.

What We’re Looking For

  • A self-starter able to work both autonomously with minimal supervision and collaboratively within an agile team
  • Experience of, or passion for, Agile delivery processes (used in software or web-based products) and a willingness and enthusiasm to promote a culture of inspect and adapt
  • Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and facilitating stakeholder workshops
  • Ability to define and refine user stories, write acceptance criteria, and definition of done processes
  • Exceptional analysis skills and a focus on what the problem means to the customer
  • Drives high standards for individual accomplishment and works to meet or exceed challenging goals
  • Extremely communicative and able to communicate effectively with engineering and business stakeholders alike
  • High level of self-awareness displayed and resilient to change
  • Ability to constructively challenge and question as well as actively listen
  • Is used to working in a fast-paced environment helping to provide clarity to delivery teams when priorities change

Location: Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a Gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where we normally spend a day or two in the office per week.

This team gather on-site every Thursday in our Edinburgh Tech Hub.
