THE POSITION

The Federal Affairs and National Programs Vice President leads FanDuel’s Federal Affairs function, oversees strategy and execution across multiple national (i.e. multi-state) issues, and has responsibility for high priority and visible projects across the organization’s Government Affairs vertical.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Build and lead a best-in-class federal government affairs program, with concentration on building relationships across federal government.
  • Oversee a small team, and lobbyists focused on advancing the organization’s interests across legislative and executive branches of government.
  • Lead a portfolio of national programs in support of FanDuel’s objectives, including oversight of FanDuel’s PAC and attorney general engagement
  • Maintain clarity on and communicate policy positions, fluently coordinating with FanDuel’s US and Canadian State Operations government affairs teams and affiliated teams as well as liaising with the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA), and the American Gaming Association (AGA) as appropriate.
  • Ensure monitoring and proactive engagement on issues of interest through legislative analysis and reporting.
  • Attend and/or ensure participation in national events and conferences of consequence.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience (preferably a mix of policy, legal, regulatory, compliance and government affairs work)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in-house for a publicly traded company with a focus on Federal government affairs
  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience, directly overseeing teams and consultants
  • Experience in sports wagering, gaming and/or highly regulated gaming industries strongly preferred
  • JD or commensurate degree required
  • Exceptional analytical, written and problem-solving skills demonstrated across multiple contexts
  • Exceptional advocacy skills
  • An enthusiastic, positive self-starter and proactive in approach to drive value in role
  • Extraordinary relationship building, organizational skills and administrative scales
  • Sufficient experience to distill information and data into clear and concise insights, and separate noise from signal
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment

The applicable salary range for this position is $218,000 - $290,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
