THE POSITION

The Technology Transformation Director will help lead transformative technology innovations across the business.  The role will report into the VP of Technology Strategy and Transformation to stand up FanDuel’s first ever technology transformation team dedicated to quickly identifying and prioritizing ways to use transformative technologies to drive our business forward. This role will act as a partner to senior leaders across the organization, to help them identify opportunity areas, and test solutions to help drive efficiency and business acceleration with the support of technology. We are looking for someone who loves to be at the forefront of new tech innovation, has business acumen and a bias for action. They are not afraid to try something new and know that with any failed pilot comes learnings for what we can do better next time. An organized leader, this person will be able to quickly gain buy-in from stakeholders, identify project milestones and work in close partnership to deliver against those goals, keeping people up to date along the way. This role will be critical to identifying and supporting innovation projects across the business.

 

THE GAME PLAN

Reporting into the VP of Technology Strategy and Transformation, you will help us to identify and evaluate a new slate of innovative ideas for the business.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Help FanDuel identify, test and evaluate opportunities to leverage innovative technologies throughout our business in order to drive internal business value and consumer value
  • Be on the forefront of new developments in the innovative technology space. Conduct external research on potential tools or capabilities and how they may be able to impact FanDuel ecosystem. Provide insights for the technology leadership team on where we see opportunities.
  • Work across FanDuel with leaders from all verticals, including but not limited to marketing, central operations, product, engineering, customer operations and more to identify potential use cases for innovative technologies
  • Work with VP of Strategy and Transformation to develop prioritization framework and evaluate potential use cases across the business to identify biggest value drives to go after
  • Review internally sourced ideas and identify what ideas should get corresponding business cases to prioritize the work within the innovation framework
  • Act as the program manager for a slate of identified innovation programs / pilots – bringing together stakeholders, gaining buying in, identifying key deliverables and milestones and holding teams accountable to these goals
  • Run regular meetings with pilot participants to gather input and track progress of impact
  • Be in tune with what’s working and what not to be able to know when the team needs to pivot and make recommendations quickly when changes need to be made
  • Set and track metrics against each innovation pilot to measure impact on a regular basis – provide recaps of this information to key stakeholders along the way.
  • For opportunities that are identified to scale, work with key stakeholders to help implement and ensure success and adoption
  • Work with the VP of Tech Strategy and Transformation to Identify ways to engrain innovation into the FanDuel culture and act as a champion of those efforts - hackathons, ways of sourcing ideas from all levels of the business and making sure ideas are heard year-round, developing innovation incentives etc.

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum 5-8 years’ work experience, specifically in a problem-solving or product management capacity within the technology industry
  • Experience with identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with development teams
  • Experience working with development teams and helping to deliver technical solutions
  • Strong track record of storytelling and ability to gain buy in from executive level leaders
  • Experience managing teams and people.
  • You get stuff done. Has a proven track record of being able to drive initiatives through implementation. People who would prefer to talk about strategy vs actually do the work to implement it should not apply.
  • Strong problem solver, ability to break complex problems into simpler, smaller ones
  • Holds a seat at the table, can speak at right level of detail when providing findings to executives. Has no trouble been tough and honest in professional conversations.
  • Experience building strategic plans and approaches to running businesses.

The applicable salary range for this position is $166,000 - $215,000 which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
