THE POSITION

FanDuel Group is looking to add to its legal team a senior Investigations and Enforcement Counsel for the Regulatory group with 6+ years of legal experience to manage investigations, enforcement actions, and engage with regulators in this exciting, expanding field. This role follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences.

This position will work with a fantastic team of legal and regulatory professionals engaging FanDuel’s regulators for all products across the United States and Canada, and support the continued innovation of those products while maintaining FanDuel’s position as the most trusted brand in the industry. Reporting to FanDuel’s Director of Regulatory Investigations and Enforcement, this role will join a sophisticated team of legal and regulatory experts and:

  • Manage regulatory inquiries, investigations, incidents, and enforcement actions related to fraud, marketing, risk & trading, cybersecurity, responsible gaming, geolocation, and other areas of regulatory interest;
  • Own all necessary documentation, auditing, controls, metrics, and reporting related to these matters;
  • Partner with relevant internal teams, including Regulatory Engagement and Strategy, Product Advisory, Compliance & Enterprise Risk, Fraud, and Customer Experience Operations, to enable seamless integration of all regulatory obligations, transparency, and controls;
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across FanDuel’s business lines to build a strong knowledge of FanDuel’s products, and address potential regulatory issues proactively;
  • Develop and support FanDuel’s engagement and relationship with regulators and Market Access Partners;

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • J.D. from a top law school and member in good standing of at least one state bar;
  • 6+ years of total legal experience, preferably including experience with a regulatory, investigative, or enforcement body;
  • Two years of managerial experience
  • Experience with conducting audits, inspections, and investigations, and implementing corrective actions;
  • Strong aptitude for legal research, problem-solving, policy analysis, and advocacy, preferably in an evolving or new area of the law;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and strategic communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of external and internal stakeholders;
  • In-house experience in a highly regulated industry or at high-growth technology company;
  • Experience with developing new processes and procedures, data analytics, and reporting to senior business leaders.
  • Experience engaging and advocating with regulators, including with mandatory reporting requirements;

Once hired, the Senior Counsel for Regulatory may be required to obtain state gaming licenses from various jurisdictions in order to represent FanDuel before regulators.

The applicable salary range for this position is $160,000 - $175,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
