The Application Security Engineer will be responsible for working with other application security engineers to implement secure DevOps processes across all FanDuel gaming products and software environments. This engineer will collaborate with engineering teams to establish secure coding practices and contribute to defining best security practices. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining secure applications and fostering a culture of efficient and dependable software development throughout the company to deliver the best-in-class applications for our customers that create opportunities to win.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.


THE GAME PLAN

  • Be a part of a bleeding edge security engineering organization which enables the agile development of secure and reliable applications and products. 
  • Guide security advisements of applications to identify potential threat vectors in the technology stack that could be used by attackers and cause disruption or a potential data breach. 
  • Develop and implement security tools that integrate into the Secure Development Lifecycle 
  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to establish metrics that demonstrate security proficiency across all major technology teams. 
  • Ensure processes associated with key systems are documented, maintained, and archived.  
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to develop the standards for application security. 
  • Other duties as required.


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Experience in software development such as Python, JavaScript, or Java 
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Nessus, Burp, and web application firewalls. 
  • Experience with Static/Dynamic Application Security Testing methodologies and tools. 
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, or CloudFormation. 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and how to assess them from a security perspective, including the integration of security tools with the pipeline. 
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Ability to communicate and influence in a highly distributed environment, providing guidance and direction on security.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The applicable salary range for this position is $134,000 - $168,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
